Instead of throwing out your old timber furniture when the paint starts to fade, we have a more frugal option. While painting your furniture may sound complicated and time consuming, it’s actually not that difficult. With the right equipment and a little know how you can transform your old furniture into something new and exciting.

Here’s an easy five-step tutorial on how to paint timber furniture:

Step 1

removing drawers

If you want to paint the interior, remove the drawers, loose shelves and any of the hardware. Wipe the entire piece down with a soft rag and some furniture cleaner to remove any dust and/or wax build up. Once it’s completely dry, patch any chipped, holed, or pitted surfaces with wood filler.
